Updating Content (=facts)
 

General
Modify permitted users can update facts. The updated content will be saved in a new version of the fact (see -> Version control system).

(1) Log in.
(2) Open the desired fact in the main window.
(3) Click in the left frame (options area) in the edit box on "edit".
(4) Enter the changes in the Input mask.
(5) Click on "next >>".
(6) Choose the permissions.
(7) Click on the "Preview" button to check your input.

When you have published your changes, the updated version is laid over the initial one, and it also receives a higher version number, for example: infoID="102095.2" have been infoID="102095.1" before (see -> Meaning of the factID).

Linking to old versions: If a fact has been updated, it is still nevertheless possible to refer to the old version. When you create a reference you can decide if you want to refer to a certain version or always to the most recent one. (see -> Create links)

File facts
The content service Downloads offers the possibility to store files that have been created with another user application. If you want to load on the platform a new, updated version of the file, proceed as follows:

(1) Open the existing file fact in the main window.
(2) Click with the right mouse button on the file link.
(3) Click on "Save target as".
(4) Save the file on the hard drive of your computer.
(5) Edit the file on your computer and save the changes on your hard drive.
(6) Click on "edit" at the fact (with the old file version)
(7) In the now opened input mask in the field File data you can enter the updated file.
(8) Click on "next >>".
(9) Choose the permissions.
(10) Click on the "Preview" button to check your input.
