Information About Versions

The FCS has its own versioning system. You can update, e.g. edit, facts, without loosing the old version. The individual versions differ by the version number at the end of every infoID (see -> Meaning of the factID). With the help of the infoID you can also directly link to special versions (see -> Creating links – reference).

Using the modify permissions you specify who can edit a fact. Permissions are always assigned to groups.

The attached to download facts files are not stand-alone facts (have no own versioning and GOE). Read details under: Concerning Download Versions.

Warning – it is possible that several users work in parallel on new versions of the same fact. These will not merge into one version though. As long as a version is not yet published, it’s modified contents are not visible.

The FCS has its own version system. With it you can update and/or edit documents, without losing the
older version. The individual versions are indicated by the version number on the end of every infoID
(see -> Bedeutung der infoID). With the help of the infoID, you can
also link to specific versions (see -> Links anlegen - Verweise).

With the selected write authorization (write permissions), you determine who is permitted to edit a
document. Permissions in most cases are assigned to groups.

Warning
It is possible for several users to be working simultaneously on the same new
versions. Note that this will not result in a collective version. As long as a version is not published,
any altered contents are not visible.

The version system concerning uploaded documents (in service “Downloads”) works somewhat differently.
